I think it’s important that each person has his or her own top 10 aspirational things to do/ places to see / stuff to experience before moving on to another world (ya – whole different blog topic). Here is my Top 10:
- Parachute out of a plane
· Visit a Tibetan Monastery
· Spend a week in a wild game reserve in South Africa with my parents
· Spend a week in a South American country with my wife helping kids for charity
· Dive the Great Barrier Reef with my oldest daughter
· Watch an English Premier League game in England with my middle daughter
· Get to the base camp of Mt Everest with my son
· Climb Macha Pichu with my brother
· Teach at a school after retirement
· Be around to witness India emerge as a global super power
What’s yours?
Hey, H-man.
I can’t believe your list doesn’t include some of the pages in the book you gave me. I’ll have to work on my list more before I can submit my 10 things. And, sorry to say, but Lucy’s blog has a few more entries than yours. So get busy. When do we get an entry on the fabulous sounds of Neil Diamond? And what about China as a super power – won’t they kick India’s butt? Take care.
1. Fly in a jet fighter
2. Dive with the hammer head sharks off Cocos Island in Costa Rica.
3. Rent a 40″ motor home, go to every MLB park with my two sons, Trent & Trevor (whom you met at Orange County Airport coming back from Orlando Insights)
5.Play golf with my sons @ Pebble Beach.
6. Go to their wedding
7. Be around when they have their first child.
8. Spend a week with Mahan Khalsa & go through “Let’s Make A Deal Or Let’s Not Play” line by line. (Best Sales Book On The Planet)
9. Leave this planet as I’m getting my ball out of the 18th hole at Carnousty, having just shot my first sub par round ever.
10.Leave this planet knowing that I had been a good friend, husband & a father that had children who respected him.
(I hope that some of these items don’t ring of morbidity)
Well said Bill. Your number 10 is probably more important than our other 19 combined.
Thanks
You forgot to mention ‘Visit Relatives in Cologne Germany’
Himanshu,
Thank you. I used to think that I knew what life was all about, until I was holding my then one day old son in my arms, staring down at perfection & I started singing “You Are My Sunshine” song that I began to know what my real purpose here is.
While money is important I don’t chase it. New suits, shoes, cars, etc. are cool, but they’re not my mine priority any longer. My family is well taken care of & I’m fortunate enough to earn a good living at what I do.
My #1 priority is to be a good father. I never thought that my life could be filled with pride & laughter by two small boys who insist that I watch Sponge Bob Square Pants with them.
This is a great site, keep it going!!!
